New Primary Care Network
Spilsby Surgery is pleased to confirm it has formed a new Primary Care Network (PCN) with neighbouring practices at Alford, Old Leake and Stickney. The four GP surgeries provide care to 27000 people.
Last month, the 80000 patient Skegness & Coast PCN that included Mablethorpe and Skegness practices collapsed, when Lincolnshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) was discovered to have bypassed the PCN Clinical Director and Board in contract discussions.
Dr Stephen Savory said “If a clinician makes a mistake, they are expected to reflect and to apologise. It appears CCG officers aren’t accountable in the same way. ‘Divide and rule’ commissioning in East Lincolnshire must end.”
“Moving forward, I am confident this small PCN can punch above its weight in the county arena. I am relieved that Stickney’s Dr Ben Moore has agreed to reprise his leadership as Clinical Director. Spilsby Surgery looks forward to working alongside friends with a proven record of integrity and commitment, to reduce health inequalities in Lincolnshire, and support our general practice partnerships. I hope the population of the urban coast can be as well served.”
