Interruptions to staff are proven to cause harm to patients. Medical records may not be completed fully; prescription and referral errors can occur. In retrospect it’s nigh on impossible to identify the cause of the error, and the person who was interrupted shoulders the blame. The practice looks to minimize interruptions to nurse and GP clinics, and to all our staff. If we decline to interrupt a member of staff and this inconveniences you, please understand that the practice policy exists to protect both our patients and our staff.
