Patient safety The instructions are frequently incomplete and difficult to read.
It’s the hospital’s responsibility to issue a prescription for any medicines required by you in the next 14 days (either on a white hospital prescription you can only cash in at the hospital, or a green prescription valid outside the hospital).
The hospital must send your nurse or GP a detailed clinic letter within 7 days.
If you have any concerns or problems, please contact your specialist’s secretary directly, or the hospital’s Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS).
If further medicines are then required, we will issue a prescription within the next 7 days.
