Two large employers in the local care sector have told their staff to seek a flu vaccine from their GP surgery. Free NHS flu vaccinations are available to the main carer of an older or disabled person who may be put at risk if that carer becomes ill. This will often be an unpaid family member. It is also available for patients in receipt of a Carer’s Allowance. If you are employed by a care agency, charitable trust or care home, it is your employer’s responsibility to offer you a flu vaccination if they wish you to have one. If you are the main carer for someone, and we haven’t yet identified you as such, please let our reception team know.
