Spilsby Surgery welcomed visitors from the Care Quality Commission on 10 November for our first ever inspection. It was a long, at times anxious, but ultimately rewarding day as we showed what ‘Care as individual as you are’ means. Our team had the opportunity to demonstrate what we do well, discuss what we do differently from other GP practices, and identify a few blind spots in how we work.
Thank you to all our staff – both those present on the day and those whose commitment every day we value so much. Thank you to representatives of your Patient Participation Group who impressed our visitors. Thank you to those of you who took the time to complete comments cards for the CQC, and your largely supportive feedback.
The Surgery was pleased to receive a ‘good’ rating. The inspection team found the practice to be caring, safe, effective, responsive and well-led. The rating spanned all patient groups: older people, patients with long-term conditions, families, working-age people, the vulnerable and people with poor mental health. Where the visitors found things we should improve on, we’ve already set about making a change.
