You don’t need a referral from your GP to see a private specialist. If you want to see a specialist and pay to see them, you can arrange this. Contact a private hospital of your choice.

If you have already been referred to see an NHS specialist about the same problem, we can provide you with a copy of your NHS referral to forward.

If you have not been referred to an NHS specialist you should give your private specialist a copy of your medical summary which can be accessed via the NHS app, systmonline, or our Admin Team.
